Hello Everyone!
This Live Journal will have all my Harry Potter fanfiction, as well as anything else I decide to post.
I've been writing fanfiction since the fall of 2004, but it's only been in the last few months that I've tried to be serious about it -- or as serious as it is possible to be, because most of us are NOT that serious. Feel free to explore -- I love comments, and would be pleased to hear from you below.
All my stories can all be found here.
So look around and have fun!

1. As you may remember, I moved into an apartment with my friend in October. Well, unfortunetly, said friend dropped out of school because of stress and whatnot the last week of October. Luckily, November was already payed for, so I wasn't quite left in the cold. I managed to find other roommates (friends I met through
2. After nearly twenty years of singlehood, I have a boyfriend. He's a wonderful guy and I haven't been this happy in ages. I think mom was a little stunned but happy for me when I told her, and I expect my father will have words for me the next time I call.
3. After many months of searching and being a nanny for a child who drives me nuts, I have a new job at JC Penny's. From what I understand, I'm the clean up crew that comes in after hours. It's a seasonal job, but if I work hard, I'm sure I can make it permanent. Training is tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it. The only drawback with this new job is that I won't visit my parents for Christmas. Alas.
4. School is...school. Not much to say about that.
5. My friend Andy -- aka thanfiction -- is still looking for those who are interested in a poster size of this drawing for only $50. They're supposed to be Michael Corner and Terry Boot, but they can be anyone really. Andy also drew this lovely commission of Ron and Neville for me. No need to ask who my favorite Hogwarts Boys are. ,-)

I'm moving into an apartment this Friday. My friend moved into a one-bedroom placethat her folks are paying for, and apparently she's lonely. She asked me to move in with her, and when I told her I couldn't afford to move into an appartment, she said, "Oh, you don't have to pay." And her parents are alright with it.
Free apartment that's a five minute walk from the school? Hell yeah. Especially since last week I had to fill up the gas tank to my car 3 times last week (and at an average of $3.13 per gal....).
I'll take pictures and post them on Friday. Tomorrow I'm nannying late, so I might be out of contact for the next 36 hrs or so.
Oh, before I forget, I wrote a drabble for the

After two dozen applications, 4 interviews, and countless miles traveling I finally got a job. Strangely enough, it wasn't at all what I expected.
I'm working as an after school nanny for a 7-year-old girl.
Seems easy enough. I pick her up from school, take her home, and help with homework/play/watch/etc with her for a few hours. Not my ideal job, but I'm getting paid minimum wage and all I really need is gas money for my car. And I do like working with kids. I figure this'll hold me over until I get a better job.
School seems good. I requires a lot of reading in all my classes, but nothing I can't handle (and at least with this job I can get a little bit of homework done as well). I'm not taking newspaper this semester (thank god) so I think I'll have a little more freetime. At the moment my ride to school is...long. I drive to a LightRail station in a suburb outside Sac, take the lightrail 30 minutes, then get off and walk about a mile. The whole trip takes about and hour and a half. But with this job, the ride will be more straightforward, since I'm using my car to transport the girl under my care. And when I move in Sac, it'll be even shorter.
If you remember, my family had put in an offer for a 5 bedroom house a while ago. It was listed as 170,000, we offered 182,000...the bank counter-offered with 205,000. We up-ed our price to 195,000...and the bank is still sitting on it. Greedy bastards.
I was NOT happy with the bank, so we decided to keep going in the search. Today we looked at a couple of houses. The one we really liked had just been newly repaired--new windows, new roof, new paint, etc.--and looked really nice. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, nice big backyard. So the folks gave the go ahead and we're putting in an offer in the morning. And best of all, it's not a shortsale and we're offering almost 10,000 more than the listing price...hopefully this'll be the house for us...cross your fingers!
Thank you to those who have friended my fic journal or have reviewed the stories posted on my fic journal!

I debating whether to leave the stories on here or change them so they are a link to the stories at magikcatfics. I don't want to delete them completely, because I rather enjoy the lovely comments on them.
In other news, school started this week. I live an hour from school, but I don't want to pay $190 for parking. So I've come up with the following system.
1) Drive half an hour to a Folsom (a large suburb near Sacramento) light rail station near the highway.
2) Ride for about half an hour to the sation stop a mile from the school.
3) Walk the mile (I could take the bus, but it's not that far, and the excercise is good for me) to my first class, where I have about half an hour to kill before class.
It's a bit trying (I have to be out of the house by 6:35 at the latest to make my 9:00 class on Tues/Thurs), but at least riding the lightrail I don't have to pay for parking, and I can get some reading for school or pleasure this way.
I've been enjoying my teachers, and they're the ones who make or break a class. The only thing is that I'm going to be up to my ears in essay. Two classes are doing 5 essays each throughout the semster, another wants two by Novemember and five at the end of the year. Plus I'll be writing articles for a Newspaper Writing class (I'm not in the actual paper this semester). Oh boy.... Luckily I'm only taking 15 units this semester.
I got called in for another interview for a position on campus. It wasn't really an formal interview, since the person in charge gave me a call and I happen to have 1 and 3/4ths of an hour until my next class to come in and talk for a bit. They're looking for someone to fill it really soon, so basically if my schedule is suitable, they'll be willing to hire me. Working on campus would be really nice. And I'd be out by 7, and have the weekends off. If Nautica doesn't work out, I could go for this one.
Also, please let me know if you can get to this post I made last week here. I don't think I've posted it properly and I'm wondering for future reference if I've fixed it.

So, to be honest, I'm not as confident as I was with the last interview. I'm trying to think happy thoughts, but I kind of got the vibe that I didn't have the experience he was looking for. But, he's got a couple of more interviews and who knows--maybe I'm just paranoid. If I get the job I should get a call next week. Still keep your fingers crossed for me, please! :-)
In other news, you all convinced me to get a fic journal, and I'll be opening that on September 1st.

Assistant Manager called me today. I have an interview with the manger on Thursday! He makes the final decision on whether or not I get the job, so hopefully it'll go well.
I'm a little nervous, because I'm not quite sure what to expect. With the first interview, it was a little easier...this one I'm not sure what the manager is looking for.
But I'm happy nonetheless. Cross your fingers for me?
In other news, chapter 3 of DAYD audiobook was posted last night. Great stuff here.
Anyone out there know two boys, ages 13-16 who can do a decent English accent? We're in desperate need of them in chapter 4.

A/N: This queenb23 overly late b-day fic. I'm sorry it took so long, queenie. The job hunt has been keeping me busy, and…well, I admit to sitting on this for a little bit, because I wasn't fully satisfied with it until recently. This stands completely on its own—no other fics are or ever will be related to it.

The interviewer said that based on her talk with me, she thinks I'd fit in well at the store! She has a couple of more interviews in the next week, and then she said that unless they find someone else they really like more than me, she wants to give my name to the manager! Then he'll interview me, and he makes the final decision on who's hired.
Thank you thank you thank you for all your advice and luck--I think it really made an difference in how it went. You guys are the best!

I know it's not a job yet, but still, at least it's something.
It's at Nautica--the clothing store. I was turning in my application and my resume, and the manager happened to be there. She took a look at my schedule, and asked if I could she could interview me the next day.
UM......YEAH!
Needless to say, I had to keep myself from jumping up and down I left the store.
